Linking panoramas between them

If you save a panorama as an executable one, the image(s) comprised in the panorama (including any image layers) will be embedded with. The total size of each executable panorama will be equal to the size of the image(s) (including any image layers) plus the size of the viewer (which is less than 370 KB).

If you want to distribute several panoramas at once with an installer you may reduce the file size of the installation by creating only one executable panorama, and saving the other panoramas as .pano panoramic images.

The users may browse the .pano panoramic image opening them from the executable panorama, using the button or you may create links in the executable panorama, pointing to the .pano panoramic images.

The links may be created using Image Layers, which are defined in the Image Editor. These images may act like buttons with links to other files that may be either other panoramas, Internet pages or local files.

Pano2exe can also show messages when a link is clicked. Any link starting with MSG: will be displayed as a message on the screen, but the four initial letters (MSG:) will not be shown.

Virtual tours

Linking one panorama to other may be used to create virtual tours through a place.

When jumping to a panoramic image with .pano file extension, if the panorama toolbar is shown, the button will appear in the toolbar. Clicking that button will jump back to the first panorama, because the second panorama will replace the first one in the screen.

Notice that if you link one executable panorama to another executable panorama, the new panorama will appear in a new window, and so button will not appear, because it is not needed.

When linking several panoramas between them, you may want to use the first executable panorama as a table of contents for selecting which other panorama to see. To do so please follow these steps:

  1. Use an image that fits completely in the screen.
  2. Insert image layers with links to the secondary panoramas, in the first executable panorama.
  3. Select Not 360° panorama on the Options menu.
  4. Hide the toolbar by selecting Hidden in Options menu, as Toolbar position.
  5. Don't allow the user to resize the executable panorama. Deselect both Resize button and Resizable borders on the View menu.
