Converting a panoramic image into a self-executable file

You should use some image stitching program to convert your pictures in one single panoramic picture, using cylindrical projection, before creating a self-executable panorama with Pano2exe.

The first step is opening the image. Click the button and select a valid JPEG or .bmp image file. That will make visible all the program tabs (Main, Advanced, Images and Installer), as shown below.

The Main tab allows you to configure the basic options to convert any 360° JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg) or bitmap (.bmp) image into a self-executable panorama. Alternatively you can create panorama files with .pano file extension and link them with an executable panorama. See Saving images and Linking panoramas between them for related information.

• Position defines where the panorama window will appear.
• Margin sets the distance between the window border and the image.
• Initial offset defines where the panorama starts. A 0 value means that the panoramas will start at the left edge. A value equal to the panorama width / 2 means that the panorama will start in the middle.
• Sound file name shows which sound will be played when the panorama runs.
• Panorama Title will appear in the title bar of the panorama.
• The About page option only works in the Professional version. The About page usually is an HTML page but also Word, Acrobat or any other kind of file may be used. It will be opened when the panorama button (in the panorama window) is clicked.

When we refer to any buttons in this help file, unless specified otherwise, they are the buttons that are located on the toolbar, in the main program window, as shown below:

• Advanced: sets the different automatic scrolling velocities and the resizing filter, which determines zooming in and out quality.
• Images: from this tab you may add images on top of the panorama, and use them as buttons, linked to internet or local files.
• Installer: to create installers to distribute one or more self-executable panoramas made with Pano2exe (only the registered version allows including any other kind of files).
